Abstract |
The article is devoted to the problem of development and formation of obstetrics in the Penza province. Only at the beginning of the XIX century. The first educated doctor appeared here. The achievements of scientific medicine began to gradually spread among the population. The article tells about the doctors who worked on the Penza land and contributed to the development of obstetrics. The first maternity hospital in the province was opened in 1880 in the village of Vladykino, Chembarsky district, at the expense of the landowner N. N. Shchetinina, where her husband's sister, doctor L. Ya. Vladykina-Vizard, worked. The first state medical institution that paid attention to the issue of maternity care was the Penza Provincial Zemsky Hospital. In the Soviet years, the first maternity hospitals were built in the region. Midwifery developed in the Penza province quite intensively and was not inferior in pace to this process in the capital cities. In the history of midwifery of the Penza region. |
